I came across this product in one of the local beauty supply stores and it only cost $7.00. Not a bad price for a Carol’s Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey product, so I decided to give it a try on my natural hair. Initially, I thought this would be a great product for my scalp. Boy was I WRONG! I really liked the smell of the Mimosa Hair Honey, but that’s just about it. I used this product for almost a week and after applying this product to my scalp and around the edges of my hairline, I got a LOT of skin irritation. I do have sensitive skin, but I didn’t think this product and its ingredients would contribute to the dry itchiness and irritation that I normally get from products with alcohol or fragrance, being that its “all natural”. However, what I do like about this product is the shine and moisture it gives my hair when it’s applied while hair is still damp, but only to my hair and the ends, not the scalp, and very little goes a long way. It also works well with old twist outs, braid outs or bantu knot outs. If you just apply a very little to the palms of your hands before taking down your twist, braids, or bantu knots and gently press the product onto the hair. It will give it a nice shine and it leaves hair feeling soft.
My problem with the product is its ingredients don’t work with my skin. So if you too have sensitive dry skin then I would not recommend this product. If you don’t have skin irritation problems, give this product a try. It might just work for you!
